For Dad's birthday, we went out to breakfast at a diner (with amazing coconut syrup) and then into Lihue where we got ice cream and a trolley tour. I didn't actually expect much from the trolley tour, but it was actually really cool and took us to all kinds of interesting places.

I left the rest of our group to go with Morgan and Conner to the airport to pick up Sydney and Jessica, then we went to The Sleeping Giant for a sunset hike. Jessica wasn't wearing shoes, I'm not outdoorsy enough to be acclimated to steep climbs up giant mountains, and we were both just so distracted by how gorgeous the island was that we BARELY made it to the overlook in time to see the sun set. Then, before it got too dark, we hiked (rock climbed, really) to the VERY top and were rewarded with amazing views! Hiking back down in the dark with only our phone flashlights was another interesting adventure, though. I made Morgan carry my camera.

Then we went back to Conner and Morgan's house for ice cream and card games before we finally headed back to Anini Beach.
