President Monson holding the walking stick that was carved out of one piece of wood using a pocket knife. It has every scouting merit badge in it. He's showing me how to do a scouting salute. He looks WAY more serious than he is.

This means I also got to see chance_potd and his wife Jenny who are visiting Salt Lake for a wedding.

This is the type of day I had, one that involved getting home from work at 5:30, taking a picture of the bunny beside my bed and falling asleep right after. Happy half birthday to me and veterans day as well!

My piece of the Berlin wall. We used to have more -- like pieces with spray paint and rebar, but apparently we aren't sentimental and those got thrown away. If I turn it from the other angle, I can claim it's a moon rock!

The ONLY picture I took all day! I realized I'd spend the whole day enjoying hanging out with Allie and her family and was about to board a plane and hadn't touched my camera. This isn't my plane. My plane didn't have an artistic sunbeam behind it.

Allie and I, after a full day of D.C. touring, walked around the monuments at night. The Lincoln Memorial was probably my favorite.

We also got a Capitol tour by chance_potd and went to the Spy Museum.

MamaLynne and I left work very, very late. I told her I wanted a picture of the Church Office Building. She told me she wasn't driving by it because she wanted to go home. I told her I would get a picture anyway! Hence, COB as we left work. It's so dark! I think MamaLynne and I were both being stubborn, but the evening turned out funny.

I had one of those mornings where I was all, "Oh, hey, the moon looks really big and cool!" (it looked bigger and cooler in real life) so I took a picture and didn't think about another picture all day long.

Those weeks where I try working four 10-hour days are hard (it's a long time to sit in one office), but they will be very worth it this Friday when I'm spending the day in D.C. with my friend Allie instead of being at work.

Bridget and Dane invited me over for dinner. Bridget has been my best friend since basically forever and it's always a delight to hang out with them.

This, of course, meant I was in Provo not seeing the CES Fireside. I came home to a lot of texts and tweets and IMs asking why I didn't visit other people in Provo, which was even more funny since as I was leaving Bridget said it was nice that I was there to visit just them and not a million other people. So true!

We've been playing up to Giselle's belief that she's a princess, so even when costumed as a unicorn, she still has her scepter at the ready for any ruling decisions.

She was so cute. She cried when Jenny would take her costume off and spent all day wearing it and running back and forth through the kitchen (at the command of, "GO!"). She was the best unicorn ever, not that I'm biased.

Carli and I went to the Jazz game with some family and friends. Auntie Chris is fun to see Jazz games with because not only does she know about all the players, she likes to power them up when they're making free throws.

We had a work inservice day with lunch at Tucanos (which is a Brazilian Grill for anyone who hasn't been there). Brandi's thoughts on the chicken hearts matched mine, only I didn't even try eating one. Usually I'm braver than that, but we have to draw the line somewhere, don't we?

My mom's coworker brought in a fabulous hat with a spider on it. They were all in meetings, so I had to take the picture of me wearing it myself in the mirror. I love that hat.

Giselle surprisingly decided she really likes her grandma. It's surprising because normally Giselle doesn't like anyone but her mom and occasionally Ziggy. Jenny brought the kids downtown today so we could all go to lunch together.

Melanie's cat Bloomer. Melanie colored my hair (to heighten the saturation of my natural red, of course), so we stopped by her house where her cat loved me. Too bad I'm allergic and don't love her back.
